Privacy notice
This page explains what happens to the details you send through the enquiry form, and what rights you have over them.
Who is responsible
blagotech is a sole trader based in Staines-upon-Thames, Surrey, TW18, providing computer repair and IT support. For the purposes of UK data protection law, blagotech is the data controller for the information described here.
If you want to ask about anything on this page, request a copy of your data, or ask for it to be deleted, contact us by phone or WhatsApp on 07778 759 172, or email service@blagotech.uk.
What is collected
Only what you type into the enquiry form, and only what you choose to fill in. None of the fields are mandatory except a phone number if you want a reply by email rather than WhatsApp.
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your postcode or area
- The device you need help with
- The description of the problem you write
Why it is collected and the legal basis
The details are used to reply to your enquiry, give you a price, and carry out the work if you go ahead. They are not used for marketing, not added to a mailing list, and not sold or shared for advertising.
The lawful basis is that processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
Who it is shared with
The form does not have a server of its own. Depending on which button you use, your message travels through one or both of the following services, and their own privacy terms apply to that step.
- WhatsApp (Meta Platforms) — when you send the enquiry via WhatsApp, the message is delivered through your own WhatsApp account
- Web3Forms — the service that forwards the emailed copy of the enquiry to our inbox
- Our email provider, which stores the enquiry once it arrives
- Cloudflare, which hosts the website and serves these pages
How long it is kept
Enquiries that do not turn into a job are kept for up to 12 months, so we can pick up the thread if you come back to us, and then deleted.
Where work is carried out, the job record and invoice are kept for six years, because business and tax records have to be retained for that long.
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no cookies of its own and does not use Google Analytics. Visitor numbers come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not build a profile of you or follow you to other sites.
One exception is worth naming: the contact page embeds a Google Map. That frame is served by Google and may set its own cookies, which are outside our control. If you would rather it did not, block third-party cookies for this site — everything else on the page will still work.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the personal data held about you, ask for it to be corrected or erased, object to it being processed, or ask that processing be restricted. There is no charge, and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle a request, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, which is the UK's data protection regulator.
